Two fleet management organisations, Association of Car Fleet Operators (ACFO) and the Institute of Car Fleet Management (ICFM) have agreed to forge closer working ties.
The organisations will work together on areas of mutual benefit and promote their respective organisations to their membership bases.
It is hoped the collaboration will bring each organisation more introductions to a wider group of industry operators who may benefit from membership of their respective organisations.
As management responsibility for company car and van operations becomes increasingly divergent across departments in public and private sector fleets, ACFO has expanded its membership base in recent years from a core of fleet operators to include HR, procurement and finance decision makers.
By forging closer links, such as reciprocal representation at conferences and other events, ACFO and the ICFM hope to strengthen the knowledge and professionalism of the industry.
Julie Jenner, ACFO chairman, said: “By working more closely together we hope membership of both organisations will increase. There are many delegates at ACFO meetings who are relatively new to fleet management and their operational experience and knowledge will undoubtedly increase through ICFM training. Equally we know that ICFM members will benefit from joining ACFO.
“The mutual collaboration will be a win-win for both organisations and their respective members.”
