A decision by the European Court on reclaiming the VAT on fuel will have a major impact on company car fleets. Organisations will no longer be able to claim back the VAT back on fuel purchased by company car drivers because staff are not VAT registered. Employers will now only be able to claim back the 17.5% if staff use a fuel card or a company credit card.
