The Chartered Institute of Payroll Professionals (CIPP) has appointed Andy Agathangelou (pictured) head of pensions.

In the new role, he will provide CIPP members with support, solutions and services to help deliver payroll, pensions and reward.

Agathangelou has 25 years’ experience in pensions, which includes a role in the launch of the Association of Member Nominated Trustees. He joins from Close Brothers Asset Management where he was head of strategic relationships.

Lindsay Melvin, chief executive officer at the CIPP, said: “There are seismic shifts taking place in the UK’s pensions landscape because of pensions automatic enrolment, and our flourishing membership is at the heart of these dramatic changes.

“[Agathangelou] will play a vital role in all of that, and he will be reaching out to collaboratively-minded organisations that can assist.”
