Father Christmas

Something for the weekend: Although the summer holidays are still in full swing for many individuals, some organisations are getting a head start on preparing its workforce for the snow-encrusted festive season. For example, theme park Chessington World of Adventures is advertising for a part-time Father Christmas to work at the resort from November.

Chessington World of Adventures, part of the Merlin Entertainments group, has posted on its recruitment site that it is looking for a male actor, performer or entertainer to fill some famously big boots as Father Christmas.

The part-time contract starts in mid-November for the chosen candidate to complete training and rehearsals. However, the main task listed in the job description requires the selected Santa to work in the theme park’s grottos. These will be open on various dates between the 1 and 24 December 2018.

As a key part of the job, the new Father Christmas will be required to “spread some festive cheer”, notes the online advert.

Luckily, the chosen Santa will still be able to maintain his work-life balance and ongoing commitments in the North Pole in the run up to Christmas because the position offers part-time hours only.

Here at Employee Benefits, we think it is a great idea for Chessington World of Adventures to get ahead on the hunt for a perfect Father Christmas; after all, suitable candidates do not just fall down the chimney…
