Chelsea Building Society has launched a workplace giving scheme to nearly 1,000 staff as part of the Geared for Giving Campaign.

It joined the campaign in response to a letter from local MP Anne Snelgrove urging employers across the UK to support the Geared for Giving Campaign, which celebrated its first anniversary on 4 May.

The Chelsea Building Society scheme was rolled out to employees under the slogan ‘Give a little, change a lot’ and enables staff to give to the charity of their choice, tax effectively.

Sally Davies, corporate responsibility manager, said: “We really wanted to introduce workplace giving so our staff had the option of taking up the benefit and in effect, giving their favourite charity up to 40% more money”.

Chelsea is the UK’s sixth largest building society with 35 branch offices, mainly in southern England.
