BGL Group has achieved a 76% engagement rate for its latest employee survey.

The global financial services firm has seen engagement in its employee survey continue to grow since it was introduced in 2009.

Initial results that year showed 58% of employees were engaged, while the 2010 survey saw this increase to 63%.

The majority (91%) of its 2,400 employees completed the survey, which asked a wide range of questions to measure how they feel about the firm and the work they do.

The findings included:

  • 97% of respondents are committed to charitable giving.
  • 88% of respondents felt they are part of a team at work.
  • 85% of respondents said the firm takes the wellbeing of employees seriously.
  • 82% of respondents got a sense of purpose from their work.

Matthew Donaldson, chief operating officer at BGL Group, said: “We know that our success is due to the expertise and commitment of our employees, so it’s very important to understand their perceptions of BGL Group.

“This survey has given us some excellent insight into our strengths and weaknesses as an employer. We originally set a target in 2009 to increase employee engagement to 73% by 2012. It was one that we thought was a stretch, so I am delighted that we have managed to exceed it.

“Now our challenge is to maintain the positive feelings our employees have about working for the group.”
