The BBC is to purchase the houses of all staff whose roles will be relocated to Manchester in the next five years.
The Guaranteed House Purchase Scheme, which will be run by a specialist relocation company, will buy employees' houses in London, which will allow staff to buy a new house in Manchester with the cash.
Matthew Murtagh, compensation and benefits manager at the BBC, said that it was aimed at reducing the problems and stresses associated with moving house.
Those likely to be affected by the broadcaster's relocation to Manchester include BBC Sport, children's programming, new media and some employees at Radio 5 Live.
