Baringa Partners, Goodman Masson, McDonald’s Restaurants, and Salesforce UK are among the organisations that have been named as the UK Best Workplaces 2017 by the Great Place to Work Institute.

A number of organisations entered the UK Best Workplaces list for the first time this year, such as banking organisation TSB, which ranks in 35th place in the large employer category.

David Harris, partner and people lead at Baringa Partners, said: “Baringa disproves the perception that it’s difficult for a business to build a great people culture as it grows. While our practices are always evolving, we remain focused on the things that matter to our team. Over the last year, we have refined our existing policies and processes and launched innovative initiatives to ensure we continue to support all our people in the best ways possible.

“There is no silver bullet to creating a great [organisational] culture. Instead, it’s about using thousands of silver pellets every day to maximise staff potential and reward those who go the extra mile. For us that includes a Gala Dinner at which we recognise the winners of our Core Value Awards in front of the entire [organisation]. It includes pizza, beer and big ideas sessions to discuss everything from the firm’s 2025 vision to how we welcome new joiners.

"And it includes our new Brighter People Fund, which gives employees £300 to use on improving their whole self; whether that’s by hiring a gym instructor, learning Spanish or taking a wine tasting course. Each of these individual initiatives, and many more, add up to [an organisation] culture built on quality, passion, integrity, collaboration and ownership.”
