Almost 300 Bank of America employees will take to the company’s Europe Card Services’ (ECS) call centre phones to collect donations for Sports Relief.
The response to be a part of the sporting charity event, which will take place on Friday 19 March, was so overwhelming that the Bank of America had to create a waiting list for additional employees keen to help out. The employee teams will join approximately 12,000 other volunteers to operate phone lines around the UK.
Aside from working the phone lines, Bank of America employees are doubling their efforts with office collections, a sponsored one-mile fun run, and a range of sporting events and activities for staff to join in on throughout the day.
John Greaves, communications executive for Bank of England ECS, said: “We need around 300 staff to help us on the night, but we’ve been overwhelmed by the response we’ve had so far.
“The fact we have had to create a separate waiting list shows just how strongly our staff want to get involved and support this campaign.”
