Over a third (37%) of employers have no key health benefit in place, according to Aviva UK Health’s 360 Degree Absence Management study.
The research, which polled 688 employers, found that 7% of respondents intend to introduce cover in the coming year.
The research also found that if employers could introduce any healthcare benefit, group risk and wellness benefits were more popular than private medical insurance (PMI).
If budget allowed, employers would like to take out the following benefits: group income protection (21%), workplace wellbeing (20%), group critical illness (13%), group life (12%), PMI (5%) and health cash plan (5%).
