Aviva, BT Group, ConvaTec, Paddy Power Betfair and UBS were among the organisations recognised for best practice in employee share schemes at the ProShare Awards 2017 on Wednesday 6 Decmber 2017.

The awards, which are now in their 25th year and were presented by television presenter Claudia Winkleman, aim to recognise and celebrate the best organisations and individuals involved in employee share plans.

International medical products and technology organisation ConvaTec won the award for Best new share plan, while global financial services firm UBS took the award for the Most effective use of technology. Insurance organisation Aviva was recognised for providing the Best financial education initiative for employees, and Janus Henderson Investors won the category for Best overall performance in fostering employee share ownership, up to 5,000 employees.

The full list of winners are:

  • Best new share plan: ConvaTec.
  • Best international share plan: SAP.
  • Most effective communication of an employee share plan, up to 5,000 employees: SuperGroup.
  • Most effective communication of an employee share plan, 5,001 to 50,000 employees: ConvaTec and Morgan Sindall Group.
  • Most effective communication of an employee share plan, 50,001 or more employees: HSBC. Highly commended: BT Group.
  • Best commitment to employee share ownership in a smaller organisation, listed and unlisted: Blue Prism Group.
  • Best employee share plan outcome following a major corporate change: Paddy Power Betfair. Highly commended: Teva.
  • Most effective use of technology: UBS. Highly commended: SAP.
  • Best overall performance in fostering employee share ownership, up to 5,000 employees: Janus Henderson Investors. Highly commended: Tullow Oil.
  • Best overall performance in fostering employee share ownership, 5,001 to 50,000 employees: Valero Energy. Highly commended: Phillips 66.
  • Best overall performance in fostering employee share ownership, 50,001 or more employees: BT Group.
  • Best financial education initiative for employees: Aviva.
  • Employee share plans champion of the year: Shelia McFadden, Lloyds Banking Group.
  • Award for services to employee share ownership: David Pett.
