Almost three-quarters (73%) of respondents want to return to work after taking maternity or paternity leave, according to research by Findababysitter.com.
The online childcare search site’s research also found that 81% of respondents said childcare costs are stopping them from returning to work.
In tandem with its research, Findababysitter.com has launched a Back in Business campaign, which is aimed at helping 100,000 unemployed parents back into the workplace. The organisation will educate employers on the types of childcare options available, offer live chats for support and advice, and share case studies.
Tom Harrrow, chief executive officer (CEO) of Findababysitter.com, said: “At the start of this year, we identified a massive knowledge gap for parents wanting to return to work, so we’re taking the matter into our own hands, by making a pledge to make a difference.
“The demand for cost-effective childcare is rising by the second. We see hundreds of new members registering their childcare requirements every day. It is our mission to get 100,000 parents back to work.”
