Employers in the manufacturing sector are less likely to provide a Christmas gift to staff this year, according to the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development's (CIPD) Annual reward management 2007 survey. The number of organisations in this sector which are likely to throw a Christmas bash has also fallen year-on-year. Less than two-thirds (60%) plan to host one this year, compared with 71% twelve months ago. Of those that will throw a party, 64% will meet the majority or most of the cost. Just 9% of employers in the sector now offer a Christmas hamper.
