EXCLUSIVE: Oscar Mayer is re-engaging employees in its health cash plan following 10 years with its provider Bupa.
At the end of July, the food manufacturer ran promotional campaigns and competitions for staff across its three sites in Kent, North Wales and Somerset to boost engagement. Some 85% of its 1,600 employees had already taken up the scheme.
Employees across the three sites had a chance to win a Kindle Fire as part of the engagement process by answering a simple question and sharing their thoughts about how the scheme could be improved.
Ken Martin, group benefits manager at Oscar Mayer, said: “The last 10 years have seen many changes in our organisation and also in the world of healthcare.
“The scheme has been successful, with 85% of our population taking up the benefit. But despite that, 10 years is a long time, employees might have forgotten how beneficial the cash plan is.”
Over the past 10 years, the organisation has worked with Bupa to change the health cash plan to suit its employee’s needs. It intends to continue to listen to employees.
“It is a chance for us to promote the health cash plan and boost engagement,” added Martin. “It’s a relaunch and a celebration, but we will continue to improve the scheme to look at what our employees want. We have work councils and focus groups, and will review later this year.”
Oscar Mayer will also host a series of roadshows in September to continue to engage staff with the health cash plan.
