Simplyhealth has launched a new private medical insurance (PMI) scheme for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).
The scheme, Simply Employee Health, will replace its existing PMI schemes, Accessible, Preferential and Sante, from 1 July 2013.
Its core cover includes a physiotherapy service, designed to remove the need for GP referral and allow individuals to speak to a physiotherapist over the phone or face to face.
It also includes access to a mental health management service, which offers faster access to a consultant psychiatrist by removing the need to see a GP.
Howard Hughes, head of employer marketing at Simplyhealth (pictured), said: “Simply Employee Health offers the market a flexible plan designed with small to medium-sized organisations in mind, with the ability to enhance or restrict core cover.
“Modules such as an enhanced cash benefit, ongoing care and travel insurance can be added to enhance the core cover. To reduce cost, organisations can choose to place a limit on outpatient treatment of £1,000, remove psychiatric and cancer cover or incorporate different excesses.
“This enables organisations to tailor their plans to suit their needs and to provide different levels of cover to different members of staff.”
