Cost saving is the main reason that employee drivers are attracted to salary sacrifice arrangements, according to research by fleet management firm Zenith.
The research found that 41% of employees ranked the potential savings that could be made via salary sacrifice arrangements as their most appealing feature, while 11% chose the benefit to the environment, 9% chose choice and flexibility, and 5% chose accessibility.
Employees were also asked to list the most important factors to be considered when selecting a car through a salary sacrifice arrangement. The top answers were: cost (33%), brand (22%), car specification (21%) and environmental impact (15%).
Salary sacrifice company car arrangements provide cost efficiencies delivered through tax savings, an all-inclusive package with fixed costs, and additional savings for choosing a low-emission car.
