Some 84% of partners at UK law firms say a comprehensive benefits package is important, but this is not always reflected in the packages organisations provide, according to the HR in Law Equity Partner Benefits Survey published by Portus Online.

The research, involving 48 law firms, found 84% do not offer partners a pension plan, while 63% do not offer a flexible benefits plan. However, 26% offer dental insurance, 76% private medical insurance, 29% a company car scheme, 11% online voluntary benefits, and 28% wealth management or financial planning.

In terms of group risk, 84% offer group income protection and life assurance, while 23% offer critical illness insurance.
