Phones 4U has chosen its pensions auto-enrolment product to comply with its staging date of 1 May 2013.

The mobile retailer will use Staffcare’s Auto-Enrolment Portal to enrol its 5,000 UK employees into a group personal pension (GPP) plan with Aegon.

Its pension advisers, Close Brothers, will manage the employer’s day-to-day auto-enrolment obligations.

Phones 4U will also roll out a voluntary benefits scheme and is investigating the option of offering a flexible benefits scheme via the Staffcare portal.

Gareth Lloyd-Davies, head of reward and benefits at Phones 4U, said: “We like the fact that the Staffcare Auto-Enrolment Portal can support our various pension schemes, manage our multiple pay periods, handle workforce assessment in an automated way and provides multiple options for workforce communication.

“We have a group personal pension (GPP) plan with Aegon, but also have a number of legacy schemes that we need to manage.”

Phil Hollingdale, founder and chief executive officer at Staffcare, added: “Most employers, especially the larger ones like Phones 4U, need flexibility to integrate to multiple payroll systems and providers and want a platform that can manage all aspects of auto-enrolment.”
