Staff employed at DHL Life Sciences Banbury have voted to accept a 9% pay increase and one waiting-day policy for sickness absence.
The members of staff, who are members of the union GMB, are in charge of warehousing medical devices, pharmaceutical and clinical trials logistics and supply chain.
The union carried out negotiations with senior management in order to secure the deal for DHL Life Sciences Banbury employees, which it stated it is happy for them to accept.
Stevey Robertson, lead convener and branch secretary at GMB, said: “We will always do our best to reach agreements and negotiate for the betterment of our members' lives.”
Steve Garelick, London region organiser at GMB, added: “During what is one of the defining periods of our lives from an economic, social, health and political perspective, when other workers are being offered negligible pay increases and are unlikely to have union representation this pay award is a reminder that GMB Union will do all it can to help members increase their pay.
“An improvement for all workers is sought at this most precarious of times and we hope this increase will send a message to employers everywhere to do the right thing by staff.”
A spokesperson for DHL Supply Chain said: “We’re pleased that talks have concluded satisfactorily and we look forward to delivering excellent service for our customers in the years ahead.”
