Something for the weekend: In order to celebrate the start of the 2022 Qatar Fifa World Cup on 20 November, sports betting service Freebets.com has offered one lucky self-proclaimed professional TV sports fan the chance to get paid to watch.
The candidate who scores this opportunity will receive a £500 payment for watching and reviewing England’s World Cup group games, a generous takeaway and TV sports stream budget, and a space on the Freebets website to report back on their findings.
If this sounds like the ultimate goal, applicants have to fill out a form explaining why they would be the perfect pick. According to Freebets, the more creative the entry, the more it will stand out.
The advert stated: “The judging criteria we’re looking for includes match broadcast quality and sharpness of the picture, commentary insight and personality, advertisement length and volume, takeaway practicality and enjoyment while watching televised sport, takeaway delivery speed, and takeaway taste and value for money.”
The competition is open to residents from the UK and Ireland aged 25 years and above, regardless of whether they have visited the Freebets.com site, and closes to entries at 9pm on 17 November.
The winner will be announced on 18 November via the Freebets.com website, and will be contacted personally via Freebets by email or direct message on social media.
