Boutique hotel group Eden Hotel Collection has given its 350 employees a pay rise of up to 14%, due to the rising cost-of-living crisis and recruitment challenges.
This is the second pay increase that the group, which has hotels in Warwickshire, Gloucestershire, Worcestershire and Devon, has awarded its staff within the space of six months. According to the Eden Hotel Collection, together the two pay rises amounted to the most significant increase ever given to employees, having been weighted to particularly support those at the lower end of the pay scale.
In addition, the group is set to launch an employee wellbeing strategy in August, including information sessions as well as a focus on employee brand and experience.
The first session will be focused on financial wellbeing in the face of ongoing cost-of-living challenges. It will be based on four key areas of employee support: money, mind, body and heart, and follows on from the successful launch of the business' Wellbeing Week in early 2022, as well as its employee wellbeing web page.
Mark Chambers, group managing director at Eden Hotel Collection, said: “As an industry we’ve all been through an immense pressure in the past couple of years but as we now emerge out of the pandemic, rising cost-of-living is unfortunately placing a new burden on our workforce.
“Our staff are at the foundation of everything we do and we therefore felt it important to offer a competitive pay which recognises the rising cost-of-living and impact on daily life, from petrol to energy and food prices, as well as looking at what initiatives we can offer to support our staff.”
