NHS Scotland staff are to receive a pay rise of at least 1% from April 2016.
The Scottish government is to implement the increase in pay after accepting independent recommendations from the NHS Pay Review Body and Doctors’ and Dentists’ Pay Review.
Employees earning less than £22,000 will also receive an additional sum of at least £400.
Shona Robison, health secretary, said: “We are committing nearly £100 million next year to ensure all NHS staff groups in Scotland will receive a 1% pay increase. We will also supplement the pay of those currently earning under £22,000 to ensure they receive an increase of at least £400.
“Our commitment to this pay increase, and to the living wage, for NHS workers underlines the value we place on frontline staff who work incredibly hard every day to care for the people of Scotland.”
