Asda is to reward its 180,000 staff with a £17 million festive bonus to thank them for their hard work throughout 2013.
The Christmas bonus package includes a £20 Asda gift card, with £5 towards a Christmas party and a free meal.
It also includes double discount days on 19 and 20 November when employees’ 10% discount doubles to 20% on items such as clothes, toys and games, fragances, Christmas wrapping and decorations, electrical goods and food.
The retail organisation will also reward a number of staff with an additional £10 gift card for exceptional customer service.
The festive thank you tops off a year of reward-related incentives for Asda’s employees.
In July, more than 19,000 Asda employees shared a payout of £61.7 million under parent organisation Walmart’s three-year sharesave scheme.
Employees shared a further £26 million bonus following better than expected sales in February 2013.
