The Metropolitan Police Authority and Metropolitan Police Service (MPS) have extended their pay and pensions outsourcing contract with Logica for a further three years.
Following the contract extension, MPS has the opportunity to introduce organisation-wide electronic payslips, overtime and expenses for the first time, as well as providing staff with greater use of self-service IT systems.
MPS awarded Logica the £10 million contract extension, renewing the existing contact that was signed in 2005.
Logica provides a managed payroll and pensions administration service for MPS’s 58,000 police officers and employees.
The pensions administration service will continue to be managed through Logica’s partner, Xafinity Paymaster.
Norman Baldwin, Logica’s UK business process outsourcing director, said: “Across the public sector the need to ensure cost effectiveness has never been more important.
“Through the provision of a flexible platform we have been able to continue to innovate in the services that we provide to continue to reduce the cost of delivery and increase value for money and enable a more dynamic and efficient HR function to deliver greater strategic value.”
