MetLife GCC

MetLife UK is offering staff the opportunity to take part in a 100-day wellness challenge, which aims to support employee health and performance.

Approximately 189 UK staff are participating in the 2016 Global Corporate Challenge (GCC), which will see them compete against 50,000 teams around the world, including 1,200 MetLife employees based in Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA)

Employees will form teams of seven, with each team member aiming to take 10,000 steps a day. Every participating member of staff will be provided with a GCC Pulse, a wearable activity tracker that they can use to monitor their movement over the course of the day.

The organisation’s participation in the challenge forms part of its Wellness for Life programme, and aligns with its commitment to taking a holistic approach to wellbeing.

Tom Gaynor, employee benefits director at MetLife UK, said: “This is a fantastic opportunity for our employees to really embrace wellness and for the [organisation] to literally walk the walk as well as talk the talk.

“Our aim across EMEA is to strengthen employee engagement to promote the healthiest focus we can on all aspects of wellness including physical activity, nutrition, positive minds and better sleep. Whether our staff walk, run, cycle, swim, ballroom dance or are into martial arts, we want to support and reward them.”
