The Very Group, which owns digital retailers Very and Littlewoods, has been accredited as a menopause-friendly employer due to its commitment to supporting its employees experiencing the condition.
The accreditation, established by Henpicked: Menopause In The Workplace, certifies employers with high standards and proven practices that embrace menopause in the workplace.
The Very Group was praised for creating an inclusive and supportive environment, and raising awareness of menopause in the workplace. Its efforts in improving its employment policies, practices, culture, work environment and training programmes were commended.
As part of Very’s ongoing commitment to overcoming the taboo around the menopause, the group introduced resources to support those navigating the condition, either first hand or via colleagues and family members.
These included the creation of a menopause awareness guide and an e-learning module for all staff. In addition, women in the group’s Wave employee network host regular events to raise awareness and offer guidance to those needing further support.
Sarah Willett, chief people officer at The Very Group, said: “I’m extremely proud that we’ve been formally accredited as a menopause-friendly employer. Here at Very, we work hard to foster an inclusive workplace where people feel welcomed, represented and valued through every stage of life. So, to receive recognition for our ongoing commitment from an organisation such as Henpicked is such a meaningful milestone in our journey toward building a truly inclusive workplace.”
