Marshall Aerospace has seen the highest take-up of its bikes-for-work scheme since it was launched two years ago.
Take-up rose by 63 employees in June, bringing the number of staff using the scheme to 275, around 17% of the aircraft manufacturer’s 1,600-strong workforce.
The scheme, provided by Halfords, enables employees to pay for a bike and accessories over 18 months through salary sacrifice.
Marshall Aerospace regularly updates communications to employees about the scheme through posters and emails, as well as information on its intranet.
The average spend is currently £650, which sees employees saving around £270 each by buying a bike through the scheme.
Lynn Curtis, HR office administrator at Marshall Aerospace, said: “It is an opportunity for employees to cycle to work, and an opportunity for them to be green."
