Today (Friday 24 June) marks one of my favourite days in the Employee Benefits calendar: the Employee Benefits Awards and Summer Party. Due to two maternity leaves and the Covid-19 pandemic, it has been five years since I last had the pleasure of introducing proceedings and welcoming guests to the HAC in London.
The event is always a great opportunity to celebrate some of the fantastic initiatives employers are offering to their workforces. The creativity and innovation displayed by our entrants never fails to impress both the Employee Benefits team and our highly experienced panel of judges. Personally, I always find it fascinating to read about what organisations are doing to support their employees, and how this has evolved in line with both social and industry trends. This year, I was particularly interested to learn more about how leading organisations are supporting employees during their menopause, fertility and pregnancy journeys. These are all such significant events in individuals’ lives, it is refreshing to see them finally gaining recognition of this.
Of course, while the awards are a big part of the day, I’m also looking forward to the opportunity to meet and catch up with so many of you. In this post-pandemic world, being able to gather on such a large scale still feels like something of a novelty.
You can follow all the action from the day on Twitter at @EmployeeBenefit and by following #EBAwards22. Details of all the winners, along with the reasons they were selected, will be published on employeebenefits.co.uk early next week.
I look forward to seeing many of you there.
