Live Nation Entertainment has launched an online benefits portal and total reward statements for all its permanent employees.

The moves are part of a project to educate staff about their package and harmonise benefits across the organisation. A number of acquisitions and Transfer of Undertaking (Protection of Employment) (Tupe) transfers had resulted in numerous pension schemes and benefits entitlements among employees across the group’s five businesses.†

Brian Newman, international HR director at Live Nation, said: “It has been about levelling out so there is consistency across the business.”

Through the portal, staff can access perks including a salary sacrifice arrangement for the group personal pensions, and a range of voluntary benefits, such as childcare vouchers and bikes for work. The company also reviewed its benefits providers to achieve savings where possible.

In the first two weeks after the launch of the portal and reward statements, provided by Thomsons Online Benefits, 800 unique employee log-ins were recorded and 100 benefits selections made.

Using total reward statements to help staff understand the value of their package is also aimed at boosting employee retention, said Newman. “It is a powerful way of showing what staff get from the [employer/ employee] relationship. This allows us to position the desire to do things properly and give [staff] something extra.”

Brian Newman will be speaking about increasing motivation at Employee Benefits Live on 29 September
