EXCLUSIVE: Jelf Employee Benefits has launched a series of guides to help employers navigate the changing landscape of pensions in the UK.

The series, Making sense of workplace pension reforms, reflects the nine sections of The Pensions Regulator’s (TPR) guidance for professional advisers.

It is designed to make the topics accessible for employers and is freely available on Jelf Employee Benefits’ dedicated auto-enrolment site.

The series covers the following topics:

  • An overview of new employer duties and how to assess your workforce
  • Getting ready
  • Assessing your workforce
  • Pension schemes
  • Automatic enrolment
  • Opting in, joining and contractual entitlement
  • Opting out
  • Safeguarding individuals
  • Keeping records

Alan Millward, corporate benefits director of Jelf Employee Benefits, said: “Employers need to get to grips with what this new legislation means to them in practice and our guides help them to do just that.

“There is a lot of information available, but it isn’t always easily accessible or particularly user-friendly. The series we have developed addresses these issues and really helps the employer through this maze of new legislation.

“We can’t emphasise strongly enough how employers need to start planning for these changes right now.

“There is growing evidence that many employers either don’t fully understand the implications for their business, or they are underestimating the complexity and time it will take to embed these unavoidable changes in their company.”
