“It has made a great contribution to many good causes and provided a boost for many of our own charities.”

Clare Jackson, payroll officer at LV=, added: “It’s a great achievement for LV= that the success of our scheme has been recognised and this shows that our pennies are making a big difference to the charities we support.”

Kate Frost, business development director of Pennies from Heaven, said: “May we congratulate all of our 2014 award winners on their achievement and thank them for their ongoing support and generosity.

“Despite continuing pressures on charitable donations, we are proud that Pennies from Heaven has continued to grow in terms of the number of employers offering the scheme, the number of staff participating and the amount of money being donated.

“In 2013, we reached an important milestone of distributing our 250,000,000 penny, saw average participation rise by 50% and, in the first six weeks of 2014, five employers have joined up.

“We are extremely proud of our award winners and hope that their success inspires even more organisations and staff to join us in the future. There can be little doubt that ‘small change is making a big change’.”
