InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG) employees have received more than 33,000 global recognition awards.
The hotel group rolled out an international recognition programme for more than 350,000 employees in almost 100 countries in November 2011.
The programme, Bravo, which is provided by Globoforce, enables the hotel group to encourage employee behaviour that reflects its values and drives engagement.
It wanted to motivate employees by recognising behaviour that exemplified its five values, called Winning Ways: Do the right thing, Aim higher, Show we care, Celebrate difference and Work better together.
The organisation’s previous recognition plan was only available to employees in Canada and the US.
IHG has also appointed Bravo Champions to encourage employees to share the recognition culture.
Lori Gaytan, senior vice president of HR at IHG, said: “We want to make sure we value our employees and they feel recognised, because we know this drives engagement and delivers a greater guest experience in our hotels.
“At a single glance, you can see our employees around the world making great contributions and embodying our culture. This is driving our employment brand and business performance.
