International Women’s Day is tomorrow, Wednesday 8th March. The day is an opportunity to honour women’s achievements, raise awareness for gender equality and celebrate those who are pushing the boundaries for women’s rights and fighting gender bias.
Each International Women’s Day has a theme, and this year’s is ‘DigitALL: Innovation and technology for gender equality,’ where women who are leading digital education to empower young girls and women will be particularly celebrated. Everyone is responsible for building a world without gender bias, both in our personal lives and in the workplace.
If you’re looking for some ways to celebrate International Women’s Day, here are eight things you can do:
- Honour inspirational women
- Organise a book club
- Support women-owned businesses
- Meet up with women in your network
- Donate to charity
- Challenge inequality and show your support
- Include all genders
- Acknowledge the amazing women in your life
