Hitachi Consulting has merged two pension plans and introduced a new platform to manage its employee benefits.
The Benpal platform, provided by JLT Benefit Solutions, uses a variety of channels to communicate and engage with employees, including presentations and online media engagement from emails to SMS text messaging.
Anthea Carter-Savigear, HR director at Hitachi Consulting, said: “This has been a great opportunity to run all our employee benefits through one platform. Our flex scheme, pensions and related communication are now part of BenPal.
“Take up of the voluntary and flex benefits, including new-style benefits such as identity theft cover has been high, with positive feedback from our employees.
“This is not only great for employees, as they can manage all their benefits in one place, on a clear and understandable platform, but also for Hitachi Consulting as we now have insightful management information.”
Charlie Carrick, solutions director at JLT, added: “Hitachi Consulting had a number of challenges facing it in terms of its employee benefits strategy.
“Following Hitachi Consulting’s acquisition of Edenbrook it needed to merge two pension plans †into one new plan with Aviva. This was a great opportunity to harmonise benefits but to also increase take up by showing employees how valuable the benefits were that were on offer to them.”
