Spencer Clarke Group, a recruitment agency based in Preston, has launched an initiative called 'The Wellness Project' for its agency workers.
The project, designed to support the emotional, physical and mental wellbeing of employees, consists of expert advice and toolkits to support all areas of wellbeing. This will be available on the wellness hub on Spencer Clarke Group's website, as well as through a monthly wellness newsletter.
The group has also launched 'Wellness Wednesdays', where life and career guidance will be available on its social channels. Its agency workers can enter regular competition draws to win prizes, including wellness journals and books, skincare bundles, relaxation candles and healthy snacks, which the group said it hopes will help employees recharge their batteries after a long day at work.
According to Spencer Clarke Group, the project aims to provide constructive advice and coping mechanisms to prevent workers from feeling overwhelmed, which can negatively impact their wellbeing.
The business launched this in response to the ongoing health and wellbeing crisis, which it said is getting progressively worse, as well as the cost-of-living crisis in the UK, with inflation rising and energy, house and food prices soaring. The group stated that financial strain, on top of stresses from juggling a career with relationships, families and friends, can exacerbate health and wellbeing issues.
Managing director Mike Shorrock (pictured) said: “Within Spencer Clarke Group, we have 11 points of culture, which are the fundamental elements of what make us who we are. One of those points is being different, which means we go above and beyond expectations.
“The Wellness Project is just one of the ways we challenge the status quo. We thoroughly believe that happy and healthy employees are great for business so we’re committed to facilitating that.”
