Octopus Investments offers its 750 UK employees a range of support tools to help with their sleep as part of its wellbeing hub.
Through the hub, the financial services firm's employees can access a premium Headspace account which has dedicated sleep support from guided meditations, sleep casts, music and soundscapes.
Emma Ryan, co-wellbeing lead at Octopus Group, says: “We also offer sleep support through Wellness Cloud, which provides one-to-one consultations to our employees in lots of areas, and has specific adult and child sleep specialists that our employees can book up to 12 sessions with a year.
“The provider also runs talks on sleep that our people can tune into and has a guided meditation and sleep stories section on its hub and app that our employees can make use of.”
In addition, Octopus works with chartered psychologist Dr Rob Archer, who runs webinars and in-person sessions throughout the year that focus on maximising performance and the importance of end-of-day routines that can help separate work from life and, ultimately, aid sleep.
The hub, known as Anchor, also includes benefits to help with employees' wider health and wellbeing such as one-to-one remote coaching for parents through Wellness Cloud, subsidised financial coaching, health screening, wellbeing challenges, an employee assistance programme that provides confidential counselling and support, a digital GP and Shout, which offers mental health support.
Octopus Group believes it is important to offer this kind of wellbeing and sleep support to as most employees will experience turbulent times in life.
“As an employer, it’s vital to help our employees where we can. In addition, many elements of the Anchor programme, including the sleep support, are extended to loved ones because Octopus understands the importance of family,” Ryan adds.
