Partech, part of In-situ Europe UK, is a manufacturer of drinking water and wastewater measurement equipment. The organisation employs 44 people across two sites in the UK, and its group risk benefits offering includes group life assurance and group income protection, which pays a monthly income if the employee is unable to work due to illness or injury, to all eligible UK staff.
Its group life assurance, which pays out a lump sum on death, also includes an app which provides employees with access to financial and legal support, 24/7 access to a remote GP, 24/7 helpline, mental health support, physiotherapy, medical second opinion, wellbeing content, cancer assist, lifestyle coaching and access to savings and discounts.
Mark Hall, financial controller at Partech, says: “These additional benefits are extremely important to all staff and, as a business, these form an integral part of the overall benefits package that we offer. We have seen a strong take-up, with 100% of staff currently signing up for the income protection and life assurance. The other benefits are widely used by over a third of our staff monthly, and despite the taxable implications, continue to be popular.”
All benefits are communicated to staff at induction, while information is shared in the staff handbook and on local communication boards. “Our provider, Towergate Employee Benefits, ran an employee webinar to let employees know about the health and wellbeing support services offered through the group life assurance, and we had a good turnout for this,” adds Hall. “It is important to us as a business to provide access to these value-added benefits as they support the wellbeing of our staff, to ensure we continue to have an engaged, healthy and happy workforce.”
