The publishing firm, which has titles including the Daily Express, the Sunday Express, the Daily Star and the Daily Star on Sunday, appointed PMI Health Group to broker its PMI scheme for its 600 employees.

One of its sister businesses, Westferry Printers, which also reduced its PMI premium by 10%, has 60 employees.

The two schemes have now been harmonised to simplify administration and ensure all employees have access to the same benefits.

Julie Fullilove, group HR director of Northern and Shell Media, the parent organisation of Express Newspapers and Westferry Printers, said: “Our employee health cover is at the heart of our reward and benefits programme.”
