The majority of employers (77%) spend less than 30 minutes a month on childcare voucher administration, according to research by the Childcare Voucher Providers Association (CVPA).
Its Making childcare work survey, which questioned 1,618 employers between June and July 2013, also found that:
- 94% of respondents believe they play an important role in helping their employees understand tax-free childcare and their eligibility.
- 86% of respondents said that the benefits of childcare vouchers outweigh the administration costs.
Julian Foster, board member of the CVPA, said: “This research is a significant contribution to the on-going debate around tax-free childcare.
“It highlights not only the importance of employers in administering the current childcare voucher scheme, but demonstrates how and why employers want to continue to be involved in helping working parents with the cost of their childcare.”
