Education facility East Kent College has launched a new salary sacrifice mobile phone scheme for its 550 employees.
The benefit, Phonescheme, provided by Grass Roots, was introduced in February 2016. The scheme enables staff to save up to 42% on the cost of a mobile phone.
Looking to widen the existing reward offering, the scheme will run alongside the current benefits available to East Kent College ‘s employees through salary sacrifice arrangements, such as bikes-for-work and personal computing schemes, also provided by Grass Roots. Offering cars through salary sacrifice has also been recently added to the benefits portfolio.
Julia Thompson MCIPD, head of HR at East Kent College, said: “We already offered cycle to work and felt that these additional benefits enabled East Kent College to widen our existing offer. The process for staff to order a phone is quick and simple to use and hassle free for the organisation to authorise and process. As staff come to the end of their current phone contract, we believe more staff will favourably consider this opportunity.”
