I am pleased to see that the government is consulting on tweaks to its auto-enrolment legislation.
Although many of the proposed changes were foreseen many months ago, that is no reason to delay putting them in place now.
There are already fears of a provider crunch by the end of this year, as employers’ demands for help begin to outweigh the capacity of providers and advisers.
Anything to simplify the road to successful implementation should be welcomed.
I can still foresee a time when implementation dates for smaller employers may have to be pushed back simply due to volumes, but for the moment auto-enrolment is rolling out nicely.
Let’s keep it that way.
