American Express, Deloitte, Ministry of Justice, and Southdown Housing Association are among the Top 10 Employers for Working Families, according to work-life balance charity Working Families.

The rankings are based on Working Families' Top employers for working families benchmark report 2016, in association with Computershare, which examines how organisations support the work-life balance of employees, including workplace flexibility and agility.

The report, which is open to employer members of Working Families, found that 94% of employer respondents have the support of senior leaders who champion flexibility. It also found that 57% of respondents include the creation of a flexible and family-friendly workplace in their values and mission statement, and 39% view flexibility as a normal model of work.

The Top 10 Employers for Working Families, listed alphabetically, are:

  • American Express
  • Citi
  • Deloitte
  • DWF
  • EY
  • Lloyds Banking Group
  • Ministry of Justice
  • National Assembly for Wales
  • Royal Bank of Scotland
  • Southdown Housing Association

Sarah Jackson, chief executive at Working Families, said: “This year, more than nine out of 10 organisations told us that their senior leaders support flexibility and more than half reported that they include flexibility and family-friendly working in their values or mission statement.

“What we need now is for flexibility to become part of ‘business as usual’, reflected in strategic planning, recruitment, project management, organisational policies and everything in between.”
