Fleet provider Lombard has been reappointed by Wakefield District Housing (WDH) to supply its fleet of more than 350 vans on an exclusive basis following an extensive tender process and a 12-month contract extension.
Lombard’s van sales unit is providing the housing association with a comprehensive technical solution, handling the design and build of the vans, with differing specifications to suit different uses, and features ranging from false floors to axle weight indicators.
The new Citroen fleet has 10% less CO2 emissions than the existing one, and savings of more than £200,000 over the leasing term.
WDH appointed Lombard in 2006 to supply its entire fleet for three years. In 2009 Lombard offered to extend the contract for 12 months to help WDH through the recession.
WDH’s fleet manager Rick Young said: “As an expanding organisation we wanted a leasing provider with a degree of flexibility and Lombard has delivered on that.”
