Navigation product and service provider TomTom has launched an application (app) that allows employers to manage mileage claim administration.
Its Webfleet logbook app is designed to produce reliable journey logs to help employers with tax compliance. The app works with Android phones and iPhones, in combination with an employee’s in-car TomTom Link tracking device.
The system requires an employee to specify that a journey is for business purposesusing the in-car device. This then reports trip information to the app. The trip records are also updated in TomTom’s Webfleet fleet management system.
Employees can also use the app to register themselves as the driver of a specific car to enable fleet managers to identify who is driving, and when and where a journey takes place.
