Plant and tool hire company A-Plant has introduced a driver risk assessment programme for its 1,900 company car drivers.
Employees were electronically assessed using risk management provider Peak Performance's RoadRisk tool. This was done in a two-week period with around 100 drivers then being sent to a driver development course.
Neil Hodson, head of transport at A-Plant, said that the firm owed a duty of care to its drivers as well as wanting to reduce accident costs and insurance premiums.
