IGS Lottery Management has started to use a driver licence checking service to ensure that its 30 company car drivers can legally drive in the UK.
Drivers are required to fill out a form about their driving history and then sign the declaration to confirm that it is true.
Fleet management provider, Fleet Alliance, will then check whether a driver has a licence, is the subject of a ban or has any undisclosed points and is entitled to drive his or her category of company vehicle.
It will inform IGS of any information that causes a driver to fail the licence check.
Peter Easterbrook, HR manager at IGS Lottery Management, explained: "This is purely to ensure that the driver licences of our company car drivers are valid and that drivers do not have previous convictions that we don't know about."
