Employers offering company car schemes might soon be able to consider adding a flying car to their list of choices.
After all, the American flying car, dubbed Transition, from aviation company Terrafugia, would certainly help employees beat the traffic. It has just completed its first flight at 1,400 feet for eight minutes.
Speaking about the first flight, Phil Meteer, chief test pilot at Terrafugia, said: “It is a remarkable vehicle, both on the road and, now, in the air.
"When I drove it into the shop, literally from the road through the garage door, I was amazed that I had just flown it a few days before. A long-overdue mode of transportation, and fun, is just around the corner.”
However, at an expected cost of £174,000, it is unlikely that the flying car will feature in company car schemes for a little while yet.
