Comet Group has launched a new affinity car scheme to boost its benefits offering and support management of its grey fleet.
The scheme, introduced by the electrical retailer last month, is open to all 10,000 staff and managers across the retail, home delivery, services and corporate areas.
The arrangement is aimed at helping staff buy cars for their own use. The scheme gives employees access to new cars, either for leasing or purchasing, at competitive, specially-negotiated rates. Staff can also choose from previously owned or returned lease cars via a dedicated website or telephone number.
Claire Williams, group reward manager at Comet Group, said: "After buying or renting a house, a car is usually the next biggest financial commitment that most of us make, so this has been truly welcomed by our [staff] and interest levels have been extremely high since day one.
"Within five minutes, we had received five firm enquiries and after two hours we had had 40 expressions of interest."
The perk was promoted mainly through the company's intranet site and its in-house magazine, Comet Life.
The arrangement, branded under the company's voluntary benefits umbrella, Comet Extras, is provided by Bowater Price.
