ALD Automotive has launched an online risk management product for staff who drive their own cars on company business.
The system, called Car Allowance Road Risk Solution, is a modular product that can provide employers with management information depending on their business needs. There are various options depending on business needs. These include: mileage reporting, MoT reminders, licence and insurance validation, service history and notification of road tax renewal dates. The system also generates 30-day renewal reminders on outstanding vehicle excise duty and insurance.
David Yates, marketing director for ALD Automotive, said: "Risk management products have principally been focused on the company car driver. A number of drivers are not covered by occupational road risk policies and companies were a bit exposed in that area."
Mel Dawson, sales director, added: "It is available for any company where there are drivers who are paid a mileage allowance or are given a cash alternative to run their own personal vehicle on business, irrespective of whether the car is funded through ALD, another finance company or is owned outright by the driver."
