More than half (58%) of teacher respondents say that they do not have employee benefits, according to research by fleet management firm Tusker.
Its survey of 330 teachers also found that just 9% of respondents are satisfied with their current employee benefits package.
The research also found:
- 41% of respondents name pay as a contributing factor if they were to leave the teaching profession, and 30% cite their employee benefits package.
- 36% consider their employee benefits package as important to their remuneration as a teacher.
- Just over a quarter (27%) of respondents are currently very dissatisfied with their employee benefits.
- 92% of respondents say they would consider getting a salary sacrifice car if they were offered it as a benefit. At present teachers are excluded from accessing salary sacrifice car schemes.
